Geeky alternative rock, massive power-pop hooks, and an astonishing pop-cultural longevity define the enduring legacy of Los Angeles icons Weezer. Formed in 1992 by quirky frontman and primary songwriter Rivers Cuomo, the quartet redefined 1990s guitar music by pairing heavy, distorted riffs with flawless 1960s-style vocal harmonies and deeply self-deprecating lyricism. From defining early emo and indie-pop with their first two masterworks to conquering new generations with viral pop covers and stadium-sized anthems, Weezer has built one of rock’s most dedicated fanbases. Navigating 2026, they remain an unstoppable, hit-packed live force headlining arenas and major festivals globally.
