The Mission

Chime-laden 12-string guitars, dark theatrical romanticism, and anthemic post-punk sensibilities define the enduring legacy of British gothic rock icons The Mission (known as The Mission UK in North America). Formed in Leeds in 1985 by frontman Wayne Hussey and bassist Craig Adams following their departure from The Sisters of Mercy, the group quickly spearheaded the late-1980s goth-rock movement. Fusing dramatic storytelling with psychedelic textures and heavy-pumping rock riffs, they scored a string of Top 40 UK hit singles and gold-selling albums. Navigating 2026 with over 40 years of history, Wayne Hussey and company remain a powerhouse touring act with a fiercely dedicated global cult following.
